Everyone Dies In Utah

I had a great time on this shoot with my good friends Everyone Dies In Utah.  Between the 2 hour journey to get all the fireworks we needed, to the random band practicing on top of the parking garage we showed up at, everything about this shoot was eventful.  I kept the lighting fairly simple, because I had never tried working with fireworks before.  I used an AB1600 with a 2’x4′ softbox above me and a AB800 behind the group.  We had three people setting off piles of various fireworks and smoke bombs behind, and to the left and right of the group.

The best part of the shot is how completely candid it was.  The guys ended up running out of frame because some of the fireworks flared up way more then expected, and when everyone ran back to regroup I managed to snap this shot.
